Hi, I'm Julie Ahmad.
I couldn't be happier to have you here- thank you for considering my art to have in your home or office space! Whether you are interested in a high quality canvas print or an original piece, I am sure you will find something here that you love!
I have been painting professionally for over 9 years with the onset of my pregnancy with my first daughter and haven't put the brush down since. I have built up a collection of over 175 abstract pieces for you to choose from with the option to have the image imposed on a variety of different surfaces in a wide range of sizes to ensure that it will work in your space.
For those of you that enjoy collecting one-of-a-kind pieces of art, my originals are available and for sale as well. I believe that art is for everyone and by buying the art directly from the artist it cuts out the middleman which keeps the paintings affordable.
My best,
Julie

Julie is fantastic! I met her at SoCo Modern Art Gallery’s “SXSoCo” exhibition and instantly connected with her vibrant spirit. I have been looking for unique, original art for my office at home and had never found anything that felt right for the space…

What’s the deal with the female artist / woman owned bit?I am so glad you asked this question and I couldn’t be happier to tell you more about it! Women as a whole and Women of Color, even more so, are largely underrepresented in all facets of economy. But even in the fine arts where you wouldn’t think so, it’s dauntingly true. Let’s pull some statistics from the National Museum of Women in the Arts to give you a better idea of what I mean. Only 13.7% of living artists represented by galleries in Europe and North America are women. Just 11% of all acquisitions and 14% of exhibitions at 26 prominent U.S. museums over the past decade were work by female artists. But yet, Women earn 70% of bachelor of fine arts degrees in the U.S., though only 46% of working artists (across all arts disciplines) are women. The list unfortunately goes on and on… if your interested in learning more you can click here to find out more. And if you’d like to see the playing field be leveled up, support female artists- buy their art, brag about it and love it!

Pixels… Fine Art America? I’m confused. Which company do you use to print your art?Fine Art America and Pixels are the same company. Since they have had such a global presence, in 2012 they launched the brand Pixels and the rest is history.
-
When will my products / prints be shipped?Products and Prints require 2 - 8 business days to print and manufacture before shipping, depending on the product. You can see the specific lead time for each product when viewing the product on our website. Products will ship from the manufacturing facility located nearest to your destination address.
-
Do you ship internationally?Yes, my art prints ship all over the world! Pixels has 14 manufacturing facilities located in five different countries. If you can receive a package via UPS or FedEx, then we can ship to you!
-
Where is my order? As soon as your order ships, Pixels will send you an e-mail confirmation with a tracking number included in the e-mail. They send the e-mail to the e-mail address that you provided when you placed your order. If you want to check on the status of your order at any time, just log in to your account on Pixels and then click on your "Purchases" page. Click here to log in.
-
What is your cancellation / return policy? If you are not happy with a purchase that you made on Pixels.com, for any reason, you can return it to us within 30 days of the order date. As soon as it arrives, we will issue a full refund for the entire purchase price. Please note that Pixels does not reimburse the outgoing or return shipping charges unless the return is due to a defect in quality.
-
How do I make a return? All you have to do is fill out the form here. Once you fill out the form, you will then be able to print out a return label which you should use when mailing back your return.
-
I’m buying a gift. Will the purchase price appear on the invoice in my order? You can send your order as a gift. We do NOT include any dollar amounts on the invoice that will be included with your purchase.
-
Can I include a gift message with my purchase?Unfortunately, you cannot include a gift message with your purchases from Pixels.
-
Can I hang my prints in the bathroom?Yes - you can hang your prints in a bathroom! Just make sure that your print is not exposed to direct spray from the shower. Pixels "hardiest" products for bathroom use are metal prints and acrylic prints. Both of those products do not use any paper or canvas, so moisture is not an issue at all. Framed prints and canvas prints will work fine in a bathroom, as well. Just make sure that you are not exposing them to prolonged periods of high moisture from long, hot showers.
-
What is the difference between an original and a canvas print? An original piece of art is made by hand by the artist using various mediums of their choosing. There is only one available to be purchased; this offers a level of exclusivity and preciousness to the owner. A canvas print is a high resolution digital image of an original artwork that is then imposed or “printed” onto the surface of a canvas or a variety of product options. Technology is producing some pretty fantastic results in terms of the quality and likeness to the original painting. For some more info on whether to select an original or print, read my blog post "Original or a Print? What’s the Dilly?"
-
What is the social impact of my purchase?Purchasing my art not only allows me to support my family, but it allows me to continue to do what I love. The joy in doing what I love makes me a better mom, wife, friend, and person you cross paths with at the grocery store, etc. Supporting creatives in their passion literally makes the world a better place. You can feel really good about contributing to that!
-
Is investing in art a good idea?Buying original art is not only cool as hell, but you’re literally acquiring something that no one else in the world has as its 100% one-of-a-kind. Original art is something you can pass down generationally to your legacy. According to DollarSprout, art consistently delivers average returns of 7.6% because it is unaffected by how the financial markets are performing and is a much more stable investment.
-
What currency is being used? All prices are in US Dollars.
-
Is shipping free on original art?Unfortunately, it is not free. Instead of building the shipping fee into the price of the art, I simply leave it out of the initial purchase and a second invoice is sent via PayPal after I have the shipping address to provide an accurate quote.
-
Can I get a quote on shipping before I purchase the art?Absolutely! I encourage this as I do not want there to be any sticker shock and want my clients to know up front what the total cost is so that they can make the most informed decision for themselves. Please send me an email at art@julieahmad.com and mention the artwork you’re interested in as well as the mailing address- this way I can provide you an accurate quote.
-
When will my new artwork ship?Once the shipping invoice is paid, the delivery process begins. Shipping LARGE Paintings : I will order your custom crate from Transpak, my freight shipping and crate provider. They will create the shipping container within 3-5 business days at their facility. The empty crate is then brought to my studio in South Austin and the art is placed inside the crate, sealed, and delivered to their logistics department where it will be placed in a truck that then goes to its final destination, to you the buyer! Shipping SMALL Paintings : Anything under 48 inches, give or take (we work on a case by case basis sometimes, depending on where you live and the exact proportions of the painting in question) ships FedEx. I will package your artwork in a double strength corrugated cardboard box with all of the protective materials to ensure that your artwork arrives to you damage-free.
-
Is delivery free for your original paintings going to locations in Austin, TX?Absolutely! If you are local in Central Austin, I am happy to make the delivery personally & free of charge. We will make arrangement so that you will be there to receive the art as I do not leave art outside the house- it must be taken inside. The maximum size canvas I can offer this service free of charge for is 40” x 60”. Anything larger than that size will require me to rent a commercial vehicle in order to make the delivery, which is a $350 flat fee for this service.
-
I’d like to pick up the art myself- is that possible?Yes, another option for you is to make arrangements with me for you to pick up the art at my studio in South Austin. The artwork will be wrapped minimally in plastic wrap which will protect it from any dirty surfaces, spills, etc. I advise to not leave the art without air conditioning for a prolonged amount of time, should it be a typical hot Texas day. Also, make sure your vehicle is cleared out as much as possible in order to lay the art flat; warping may happen if the art is placed in a compromising position with any kind of pressure on the stretcher bars or if extreme weather conditions are involved that may effect the art. Not to worry, I will be there to place the art in your vehicle and will be sure to advise you on the best practice of placement for transportation.
-
Do you ship internationally?Yes! My originals can ship all over the world! Please email me prior so I can provide you a quote for the delivery. Import duty and sales tax are charged by your country- please note that you are responsible for those fees.
-
Where is my order? As soon as your order ships, I will provide you with the tracking information from either FedEx or Transpak so that you can keep an eye on your order and see when it will be delivered.
-
What is your cancellation / return policy?Once an order is placed, the artwork is yours and the sale is final. Should you however receive a damaged good or incorrect item simply notify us within 5 business days of date of receipt/delivery by the transport company and we will take all necessary measures to correct the situation.
