Internship position: Lead Marketing Intern

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am an Advertising graduate student at UT with a focus in Art Direction. I’m currently working on my portfolio and absolutely love what I’m doing! Creativity is my life source.

Who is your favorite artist?

The amazing and wonderful Frida Kahlo. Growing up in south Texas, she was a huge influence in my culture and I am inspired by how strong she was as a person and how fantastically she expressed her vulnerability in her art. One day I want to have a pretty blue house like her.

What is your dream job?

Creative Director of Nordstrom (catch me there in 15 years ;D )

What do you do in your free time?

Play video games for way too many hours.
What’s next?

Who knows! I’m a feather in the wind and with my graduation right around the corner, I’m so excited to put my feelers out there and see where the world wants to take me.

What's your favorite Julie Ahmad Contemporary Art piece?

Light My Fire I and Light My Fire II as a set is totally my favorite. I love the way they compliment each other and I'm all about big statement pieces.



 


Internship position: Marketing Intern

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I live in Buda, Tx, with my husband and three cats. I’ve always been a big coffee person, but I’ve been drinking more tea lately. I try to eat healthy and workout whenever I can. I like to keep myself busy and am always coming up with things to do. Right now, I work a full-time job on top of this internship. I’m also editing a book and drawing illustrations for another.

What has inspired you?

My mom is legally blind and was able to obtain two masters degrees while raising two kids. She still goes back to school every once in a while for a certification or just to brush up on her knowledge of a certain subject. Her constant need to keep on learning and improving inspires me.

What are your favorite books and movies?

I’m actually a really big nerd; I am always down for a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings Marathon. Also, I am super super excited about the last season of Game of Thrones. I’ve also read all the books to these series.
If you were an animal what animal would you be?

I totally would be a cat. When I don’t have to be anywhere I like to just chill at home and I freak out whenever my food supply starts to run low.

What do you do in your free time?

I always have a list of things I want to work on. However, if I’m just looking to take it easy I will usually play video games (Playstation forever!) or binge watch a series...Like the Great British Baking Show.

What's your favorite Julie Ahmad Contemporary Art piece?

Hidden Dragon. I love the fleshy hues and movement of the piece.
